Kathy, Tonya and family, I am so very sorry for your loss. I have pondered over the last days which memories to share. Joe and I were pretty inseparable for two years. Everyone shares the same thoughts...he was always funny and he forever made me laugh, he was always caring and genuine, and he was always a treasure to spend time with. Lisa shared one of our horseback riding stories, probably one of our funniest moments. It seems where ever life took us it was outside, on the trails, in the woods. We both shared a love of nature and outdoors so I remember our walks and talks most. He always loved his family fiercely and I am sure you will miss him every day. My thoughts remain with you. Much love always.

You will never be forgotten Joe. So many kind words have been said about you. It is overwhelming how many hearts you have touch. You were known for your genuine personality. A friend without judgment. Always making others smile and laugh. As your sister, I know how much you loved me and that you appreciated everything. I am thankful for the times together. I will cherish the cooking advice, jokes, and the many times you let me know you loved me. Until we meet again dear brother…
I love you❤️ I miss you❤️RIP
Love,
Tonya

Oh Joe! This is a sad day. My memories of High school have you all over it. I had great friends and learned a lot of life lessons there. You were one that never judged me. I was crazy and wild and you were right there with me! I will never forget our study sessions with Cindy at my haunted house in Colton. The many, many beers we drank but we still retained the information we needed to pass summer school! LOL You are in a better place now and we will meet again my dear friend! Thank you for being the kind and gentle and FUNNY dude I will never forget. RIP buddy- Your friend Niza McCarthy (Pace)

We used to have a few parties at my house back in high school. The funniest one I remember is when my parents got home the next day and my dad was working in the garden picking string beans and found a six pack of beer hidden in the beans.
I knew who it was because Joe was always hiding beer and cigarettes afraid he was going to run out. I have a lot of fun memories of Joe.

When my daughters, Sarah and Laura, were very young, I used to take them to Colton in the summers to visit my parents, Fran and Lee Collins. Joe, as a teenager then, was great with them, reading to them, and taking them on ATV rides. In their words, they thought he was "the coolest". He had a gentle nature and kindness of spirit that was evident then and throughout his life. He will be missed.

One of my favorite memories of Joe was when he and Sally were dating. Joe insisted he could ride a horse as well as us.
The particular horse I had was quite used to Sally and I racing which we often did.
I took my horse to my Grandparents for Joe. I totally told him to hold on and showed him what he needed to know.
Well, despite my instructions Joe had the ride of his life. Sure enough the race was on.
The look on his face upon their return was priceless.
Of course Sally and I may have laughed.
I’m not sure if he ever asked to ride again.
My thoughts are with all of you.

My condolences to Joe's Family - Joe will rest in peace now. Joe worked for me for many years at Cyclotherm, but was more than an employee - I considered him to be more of a co-worker and friend. Joe shared his fine welding skills with Cyclotherm, we all learned from him as he did from us. Gone too soon but will never be forgotten.
