How very saddened I am sitting here thinking about Bob and my love for him like a brother.he along with Charlie and Harry have known me and I them all my life. I would run through the woods at our beloved Cranberry collecting Toads and snakes at their delight and advice. I followed their orders at age 5 or 6. We would have cookouts in front of the camp eating freshly caught Bullheads,Bobs mother was a wonderful cook and had her hands full with 3 energetic sons. I remember them building a waterski jump but not having it sanded enough so that they came away with many splinters! Bob was a great jokester, he once climbed on top of our camp roof and scratched on it so that my father thinking it was a poripine loaded his gun and went out to shoot it! Finding Bob and some Army buddies up there laughing. A wonderful sense of humor, great knowledge of the great outdoors, huntsman, and of course his beautiful paintings famous on magazine covers, in museums, and art collectors around the country. I am very privileged to own several, some painted just for me.I have been blessed to call Bob and his Devoted Dear wife Jessie my friends. His death takes a piece of my soul with him. It's hard to let go,so my prayers and llove to all his family. I weep for you and with you. Heather Ellison Browning

To Jess and the entire Sleicher Family: North, South, East, West
Whether it be Colorado’s spectacular San Juan Rockies or Cranberry Lake in the heart of the Adirondacks, or the rugged coastline of Maine, Bob knew the contours of earth’s great landscapes. His senses were in sync with nature’s song. He was a keen observer of nature’s nuances as evidenced in his many paintings which brought joy to multitudes as did his Cranberry Lake home. Jackson Pollack once remarked, “Every good painter paints what he is.” Thus let it be said, how true, Cranberry Lake and Bob Sleicher, as it should be. May Bob continue to listen in to the haunting call of the common loon emanating from his dearly loved Forever Wild Country and may his star brightly burn forever.
With Deepest Sympathy, Peter Roberts
