MADRID—Funeral Services for 81 year old Joseph Norman Rabideau, 2083 State Highway 310, Madrid, will be held Saturday at 2 pm at St. John’s the Baptist Church in Madrid with Rev. Msgr. Robert Lawler presiding. Burial will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Brushton. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mr. Rabideau passed away early Wednesday morning at the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center. Mr. Rabideau is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ann, Madrid; three sons, Kyle Rabideau and Donna Murray, Norfolk; Kenneth and Jane Rabideau and Gene and Sonya Rabideau, both of La Vergne, Tennessee; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Joseph is also survived by five brothers, Harold ”Pete” and Erma Rabideau, West Stockholm; John and Shirley Rabideau, Waterloo; Charles and Barbara Rabideau, Ontario, NY; Richard and Tomi Rabideau, Oceanside, Calf.; Martin and Audrey Rabideau, Malone and two sisters, Leona Scharf, Malone and Laura Remington, Parishville and also several nieces and nephews. Joseph was pre-deceased by four brothers, Roswell, Floyd, William and David and four sisters, Jean Hetrick, Wilda Cutler, Elizabeth Daggett and Norma Russell. Born in Beekmantown on January 15, 1931 to the late William J. and Lena Lawiss Rabideau, he received his master’s degree. He married Ann Robert on August 24, 1957. He taught Industrial Arts and Mechanical Drawing at Norwood-Norfolk Central School, retiring in 1987 after 30 years of service. While he was at NNCS, he also coached wrestling for eleven years and taught driver education for many years. Joseph had a love for farming, but also enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. He loved to putter around and work on his woodworking projects and spend time with his family. He and Ann also enjoyed traveling, spending the winters in Florida. He was a member of St. John’s the Baptist Church in Madrid and served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict.
