After seeing you all yesterday memories flooded back to me and I had to smile at one in particular. Mr. Rabideau was so patient as a teacher when I was making a project made out of wood with the jigsaw(I had no idea how to use it and scared nonetheless) but he guided me through it so I could give it to my mom and dad as a gift to put on their front porch. He was always busy, not a man to rest which is good. Memories will comfort me as they will comfort you. Forget the bad and remember only the good. Love you with all my heart.

Anne and Family,
I am so sad to hear of Joe's passing. He was a dear man. I remember pleasant thoughts of church mornings saying hi and when he would "sneek" candy to the little red-head girl across the pew. Logan and the girls and I will miss his smiling face. Take care during this rough time, I do understand.
Love, Dawne,Lindsay and Logan.

Mrs. Rabideau and family, so very sorry for you lose. Mr. Joe will be missed. He was always smiling and had such a positive attitude even when he was teaching us to drive. He was a saint to put up with all of us students. I'll never forget, he bet my dad, Mr. Barney, a sixpack that I would pass on the first atempt on my road test. Oops, sorry but he lost that bet, guess I was nervous. Rest in peace Mr. Rabideau. Keeping you all close in our thoughts and prayers.

I remember like it was.... (well maybe not yesterday) but close how patient Joe always was with all of us then kids whether it be in a car in shop class or as a coach! I am the driver that I am today mostly is due to Joe!! Some of my fondest memories of child hood in upstate NY growing up where made with you Gene and your family out at your cabin (except the tree wheeler accident that left me with a broken collar bone and you with a busted up three wheeler) or just hanging around your place in town.
My thoughts are with you Brother

Mrs. Rabideau,
I was sorry to hear the Mr. Rabideau passed away and wanted to send my condolences to you and your family. I have very fond memories of him, such as Drivers Ed. he named me most improved driver at the end of the class, I think because I ran a red light the first day of class, first time behind the wheel and didn't have a clue of what I was doing. LOL He would be proud to know that I have only had one speeding ticket in my life and I am now 49 years old. Pretty good teacher if you ask me! I also had him for Mechanical drawing which I totally sucked at but he encouraged me throughtout the whole class and kindly gave me a B. Probably the first teacher I had at NNCS that gave me some confidence to try something new. Once again I am sorry for your loss, I will treasure the memories forever.
With Love Susan Barney

Aunt Ann,Kyle,Kenny,Gene and Family;
Please find comfort in knowing how full a life Uncle Norm lived and brought to our lives. His presence in the room was always intriquing because of his many many stories he told. As a nephew he was more like a mentor to me, educator,humorist, story teller, and true friend. I will always remember his laugh, so distinct, I close my eyes and hear him now. Even the last visit with him in the hospital he had stories to tell I had yet to hear from him. He so loved his family as we so loved him.

Sincere condolences to the family of Joseph Norman Rabideau. I took drivers' education in the summer from Mr. Rabideau. He would put a milk bottle (old glass kind) in the floor board on his side. We drove around and around the square in Potsdam to practice taking corners. The object was to learn to take the corners without knocking the bottle over. After several attempts I felt I had finally suceeded in making a proper turn. I looked at Mr. "R." and said, "there! I didn't knock it over that time, did I?" To which he replied "I quit setting it up three turns back." Mr. Rabideau's good nature and dry sense of humor touched many of his students lives. Thank you Mr. Rabideau - I still have a driver's license. (Norwood-Norfolk Central - Class of 1970)

Gene, Sonya and family, we are never really very far from the ones we truly love. Neither time nor space can sseparate us from true love, which the love of a father for a son certainly is. Our wish is that the coming days will be gentle on your heart and the bond between you and your mother and brothers will increase proportionally to fill the void we all feel when we loose someone so close. We pray God will bring you peace and if you need anything you have a close group of friends here that would do anything for you including us. See you soon.
