COLTON – A Celebration of Life gathering for Lester A. Chase, 68, a resident of 5001 St. Highway 56, Colton, will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at 2 p.m. at the Barking Dog Saloon in Potsdam. Lester passed away suddenly late Sunday evening, December 15, 2024 at his home with his wife at his side. Lester is survived by his wife of 49 years, Cherryl, Colton; a son, William "Bill" and Tina Chase, Virginia; his daughter, Jennifer and Jonathan Watson, Ohio; as well as his eleven grandchildren, Jonathon Chase, Nickolas Chase, Matt Mason, Mariah Shelton, Mykel Hamm, Alexis Hamm, Lilly Chase, Dillon Watson, Autumn Watson and Felicity Watson. Lester was pre-deceased by his parents and a grandson William Lester Chase. Born in Potsdam, NY on September 26, 1956 to the late Burton and Alberta Chamberlain Chase, Lester graduated from Colton-Pierrepont Central School, Class of 1974. He married Cherryl M. Reome on November 30, 1975. Lester worked as a scale master for many years, working for Casella Waste Systems and most recently, West Parishville Metals in Potsdam. In his free time, Lester loved being outdoors, he enjoyed fishing, boating, going camping, gardening and found his most enjoyment came from taking rides with his beloved dog and spending time with Cherryl.
