Obituary of Ruth J. Dunn

RAYMONDVILLE – Graveside services for Ruth J. Dunn, 96, a resident of the Loretto Health and Rehabilitation Center in Syracuse and formerly of Raymondville, will be held in the spring at the White Church Cemetery in Lisbon. Mrs. Dunn passed away Monday evening, December 9, 2024 at the Loretto Health Center in Syracuse. Ruth is survived by two daughters, Martha Orologio, Norwood and Beverly Hurlburt, Chenango Forks, NY; her four grandchildren, Tracey, Brian, Derek and Justin and five great-grandchildren. Ruth was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband Edwin on December 30, 2007 and two brothers, Hollis and Roger McBath. Born in Lisbon, NY on July 1, 1928 to the late Leland and Mary Woodside McBath, Ruth graduated from Lisbon High in 1946. She continued her education at the Ogdensburg School of Business, graduating in 1947. She married Edwin F. Dunn on October 7, 1950 in Lisbon. Ruth worked for St. Lawrence County as a Social Welfare Examiner for 25 years, retiring in 1986. She was a communicant of the Raymondville United Methodist Church, a member of the Norfolk American Legion Auxiliary and the treasurer of the St. Lawrence Valley Boating and Racing Association for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling, taking walks and spending the winter months in Boynton Beach, FL and spending time with her family and friends.
