WATKINS GLEN, NY – Funeral services for Kevin D. Branscum, 61, a resident of 102 Seneca Street, Watkins Glen, NY, will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 2 p.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood with Rev. Lee Sweeney presiding. Burial will be held in the Calvary cemetery, Norwood following the services. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Mr. Branscum passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 23, 2024 at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse with his wife and daughter at his side. Kevin is survived by his wife, Nancy Miller Branscum and step-daughter Sarah Bregg of Watkins Glen, NY and formerly of Norwood; his mother Wilma Fisher, Tulsa, OK; a special brother-in-law Rick and Ginger Miller, North Lawrence; his mother-in-law Norma Miller, Rouses Point, NY as well as many step-siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles. Kevin was pre-deceased by his father WR Branscum, his step-mother, Coeta Branscum, his step-father, Allan Fisher, his father-in-law, Hugh Miller and a step-son, Joey Bregg.
Born in Dallas Texas on November 17, 1962 to WR and Wilma Coleman Branscum, he graduated from High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Physics and his Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He married Nancy Miller on October 27, 2012. He was employed by Corning Inc. in Corning, NY where he worked as a Melting Engineer, designing and building new melting systems. He specialized in thermodynamics and later became an associate project manager in 2020. Kevin and his wife Nancy spent several years living in Asia while he was working on many projects for Corning. He retired in 2024 after 18 years of service. In his spare time, Kevin enjoyed playing his guitar and singing, enjoying time with family and friends, playing cards/domino nights, taking walks along the water or in the mountains and exploring new wines and cuisine. It was his dream for he and Nancy to travel the US upon retirement in an RV.
