Obituary of Patricia L. "Patty" McGinnis

NORWOOD – Graveside services for Patricia L. "Patty" McGinnis, 77, a resident of 205 Austin Ridge Road, Norwood, will be held privately for the family in Calvary Cemetery, Norwood with Rev. Raymond Moreau presiding. Patty passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at the North Country Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Massena after a brief stay. Patty is survived by a son, Michael and Julie McGinnis, Canton; her two daughters, Donna McGinnis and her companion Daniel Ames, Norwood and Colleen McGinnis and her companion Ronald Bellinger, Heuvelton; her beloved grandchildren who will always be in her heart, Connor McGinnis, Samantha McGinnis, Austin Ames and Deanna Bellinger; her sister and best friend, Judith Gregg, Colton as well as several nieces, nephews, in-laws and cousins. Patty was pre-deceased by her husband Charles. Born in Potsdam, NY on July 12, 1946 to the late Maurice and Dona Burnham Sullivan, Patty graduated from Potsdam High School, Class of 1964 and continued her education at Onondaga Community College. She married Charles L. "Chuck" McGinnis on September 3, 1966. Chuck passed away on June 11, 2011. Patty worked at St. Mary's Church in Potsdam for 17 years as the secretary and previously worked at Seacomm Federal Credit Union and Stan's Body Shop in Potsdam.
