Obituary of Robert J. Richard

NORWOOD--Robert (Bob) John Richard was born December 18, 1948 in Buffalo, New York to the late Carl and Doris Richard. Bob is survived by his daughter, Katie Anne (Richard) Kathman. After attending Florida State University, Bob resided back in Buffalo, New York. Laidlaw Transit, is where Bob carried out his successful career and met his late wife of 28 years, Jacqueline (Barter) Richard. Bob and Jacqueline married on April 30, 1994 and relocated a short time later to Norwood, New York in 1997. The long time Richard residence at 252 County Route 48 was a regular gathering place for fun times; friends and family would travel from far and wide to visit regularly. Bob was a laidback soul who enjoyed snowmobiling trips, quiet early mornings and was proud of his Irish heritage. On Saturday, March 23, 2024 Bob passed away at Canon-Potsdam hospital. Bob's last days were spent with his dear friend, Pastor Leon Sweeney, by his side. To Bob's wishes, his ashes will be scattered on Lake Ontario for his final resting place. "Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Everything remains as it was. The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
