Dear Keitha and families of Reuben and Richard,
We are sorry for your losses and pray that fond memories will serve you well. I grew up on Church Street in South Colton in the 50s and while Reuben and Keitha and Richard were much older they all had an influence upon me. Keitha was a new nurse and readily on hand to treat me and help my family when I had a nasty bicycle accident while "coming down the Benham". I was always very aware of Richard's kindness to me and to all people young and old. Reuben was the first college professor I had known of ; I went on to become a professor myself. I taught my first College course 45 years ago and am still at it. Their mother Jennie was my first babysitter and the one who took me in on many a night over the years when my mother was ill. She also allowed me to go to her home and practice my piano since we did not have a piano at home. A real treat was to wake up in one of her fluffy beds and go down to breakfast of toast and her homemade raspberry jam which she made from berries in her own thriving backyard garden. I recall Jennie's Dad, your Grandpa Bill Lyman very well, and his old grey and white' 51 Pontiac, and how fearful were some folks when Bill was on the road. I do sure hope you get these memories and would ask anyone who does to point them out to you. Best, Ed and Roxy Boyd
