Obituary of Rollin C. Waite

NORFOLK - A Celebration of Life gathering for 63 year old Rollin C. Waite, a resident of 9775 State Highway 56, Massena, will be held Sunday, April 14, 2019 from 2-5 p.m. at the Norwood American Legion. Rollin passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019 at his home. He is survived by his two sons, Bradley and Victoria Waite, Norwood; Kris and Tiffany Waite, Gouverneur; his mother, Dora Waite, Norwood; four grandchildren, Jaden, Mason, Brentley and Hattie Rose as well as another grandchild, Roselyn due in May. Rollin is also survived by his two brothers, Robert and Lisa Waite, Norfolk; Kenneth Waite, Norwood and his three sisters, Sandra and Donald Colbert, Norwood; Judith Weaver, Norwood and Susan and Rob Kaine, Virginia as well as several nieces and nephews. Rollin was pre-deceased by his father, Robert Waite. Born in Potsdam, NY on September 8, 1955 to Robert Waite and Dora Haggett, Rollin graduated from high school and entered the U.S. Navy. He served his country for 6 years and then entered the U.S. Army, serving an additional 8.5 years and was honorably discharged. Later, Rollin worked with the North Country Freedom Homes in Canton as a counselor for several years. He was a member of the Norwood American Legion and in his free time, Rollin loved spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and being at camp with his family and friends.
