NORWOOD – Funeral services for 70 year old Eddy A. Wylie, a resident of the Elderwood Home, Lake Placid and formerly of Norwood, will be held at a later date at the Norfolk Wesleyan Methodist Church in Norfolk. Burial will be held in the Fairview Cemetery, Degrasse, in the springtime. Mr. Wylie passed away Friday evening at the Elderwood Home. Eddy is survived by a son, Ralph Wylie, Watertown; his two daughters, Lauren and Earl Jon Strader, Norwood; Daisy Sarslow, Ridgecrest, CA; his six grandchildren, Justise, Damien, Schuyler, Dennis, Ryan and Wesley; two great-grandchildren, Kinley and Julia; his two sisters, Evelyn and Robert Johnson, Washington State and Donalda Jackson, Richville and his good friend, Christine Delfosse and her son, Bill. Eddy was pre-deceased by his parents, a grandchild Jordan Strader and a brother Delbert Wylie.
Born in Gouverneur, NY on February 4, 1948 to the late Arnold and Marion Finley Wylie, Eddy married Lela Arquitt on May 8, 1970. Eddy worked for St. Joseph's Mines in Gouverneur for 20 years. he had a passion for the outdoors, he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing and enjoyed coin collecting and walking his dog. Eddy was known for being an instigator, as he would often stir the pot up amongst his peers. Although he loved to antagonize, he would drop whatever he was doing to help others, no questions asked.
