NORFOLK - Funeral services for 80 year old Donald Clayton Clark, a resident of the St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena and formerly of Norfolk, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk with Pastor Lee Sweeney presiding. Burial will be held in the Visitation Cemetery following the services. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the services. Don passed away peacefully on Friday November 16, 2018 at the nursing home. Mr. Clark was a lifelong resident of Norfolk, NY.
Donald was born on November 21, 1937 to William and Katherine (Holmes) Clark of Norwood. Mr. Clark was a graduate of Norwood Norfolk Central School. He enlisted in the US Air Force upon graduation and served as an aircraft electrician at Fairchild AFB in Spokane, Washington. Mr. Clark married his high school sweetheart, Diane, in 1958. They were married for 59 years and raised four children. Upon the completion of his enlistment from the US Air Force, Mr. Clark went to work for Reynolds Metals Co. In Massena NY, where he worked as a Cast House foreman for many years until his retirement in 1991. Upon his retirement, he worked part time as the building manager for the Norfolk Housing Authority until 1999. Donald was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a lifelong love for the Adirondacks and spent much time exploring the beauty of the park on foot, automobile, ATV or snowmobile. He was a long time member of the Trout Brook hunting club in Santa Clara, NY. He supported the town of Norfolk as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals as well.
Donald is survived by his four children, Donald and Colleen Clark, Pennellville, NY; Kim and Shawn Scott, Massena; Kelly Martianou, Cream Ridge, NJ; Tracy Dengle, Moorestown, NJ; his ten beloved grandchildren; Sarah and Jeremiah (Scott) Powers; Stacey Scott; Sofia, Chloe, Spiro and Talia Martianou; Timothy and Nicholas Dengle and Ryan and Emma Clark and his two great-grandsons, Shawn Powers and Adam Jones Powers as well as several nieces and nephews. Donald was pre-deceased by his wife, Diane on May 21, 2017, a brother Lowell (Bud) Clark and his two sisters, Helen Molnar and Lorraine Martin.
