Born on July 12th, 1993 to Matthew Berger and Mary Spencer, Devin grew up in Norwood, NY. Growing up in a small town like Norwood, Devin was well known by many for being a witty, spontaneous, and courageous soul. He will be remembered for his bold character and sarcastic personality. He was full of strength and was a great source of support for his family and friends. He never let anyone feel left out and always offered his shoulder to lean on. He was a wonderful father and great soon-to-be husband. Devin had so much love for his family and friends and being with them was when he was happiest. In honor of the happiness they brought, he had tattoos of the words "family" and "friends". Every day he worked hard to provide for his fiancée and new baby boy. You could count on him to fill the room with laughter (even if it was wildly inappropriate). There was a never a dull moment in Devin's presence. He appreciated what he had in his life and never took anything for granted. When Devin was not with his friends and family, he enjoyed spending time at the gym. It was his home away from home. He also enjoyed music ranging from classic country to Eminem, summertime, making new memories and reminiscing on the good times. The memory of Devin's fun, loving spirit will always be remembered through those who love him the most.
Devin leaves behind a 4 month old son, Brantley Dustin Berger. He is also survived by his fiancée Hannah Latham, Colton; his mother Mary Phillips and her husband Todd Phillips, Norwood; his siblings Gavin Phillips, Makyla Phillips, and Marayna Phillips; his maternal grandmother, Arloene Morgan, Norwood; his father Matt Berger and his wife Tracy Berger, Norfolk, a brother Matthew Berger; Tracey's three daughters, Bryanna, Katelyn and Ashley; his paternal grandmother Debbie Berger and her companion Bruce Eastwood, Hannawa Falls as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Devin was pre-deceased by his brother Dustin Berger tragically in 2010 and his grandfather's Jack Morgan and Robert Berger. We hope you continue to watch over us as you always have Devin. Memorial Donations in Devin's memory can be made to the Wounded Warriors Outdoor Adventures or any other local veteran's organization.
