NORFOLK—A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial for 82 year old Shirley M. Lashway, a resident of 8 Hutchins Street, Norfolk, will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk with Rev. Msgr. John Murphy presiding. Burial will follow the services in the Visitation Cemetery, Norfolk. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mrs. Lashway passed away early Friday morning at her home surrounded by loved one's.
Shirley is survived by a son, Eugene and Cheryl Lashway, Norfolk and their children Eugene Jr. and Grace; Jacob and Jaime; Lacey and Brandon Clark; Roger and Ellie; three daughters, Donna Lashway, Norfolk and her children Jamie and Aaron DeRouchie; Taylor and Jonathan Jenkins; a daughter Carrie and Bruce LaShomb, Parishville and their children, Emily and her fiancé Shawn Allen, Julie and Ethan; a daughter Eva Jo Sweet and her companion Chuck Sherman, Norfolk and her son, Brian and his fiancé Marissa; her pre-deceased daughter Cynthia's children, Trisha Francis and her fiancé Matt Gray, Eric Francis and his partner Peter McCloy; eight great-grandchildren; a brother Gerald and Ruth Bigness, Jordan, NY and several nieces and nephews of which one is Shari Wright, who was raised like a daughter after the death of her mother. Shirley was pre-deceased by a daughter Cynthia Francis in 2013, a granddaughter, Nicole Lee Tallman, her brothers Eugene, Harrison, Ernie, Morris, Marvin and Norman as well as her sisters Almara Fields, Eleanor Monette, Lillian LaFleur and Bertha Revette.
Born in Malone, NY on August 12, 1935 to Norris and Obline Dame Bigness Shirley attended Malone Schools. She married William Lashway on July 3, 1954 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Malone. William passed away on April 1, 1993. Shirley was a homemaker and truly enjoyed cooking and watching baseball, especially the Yankees. Shirley also enjoyed sewing and loved spending time with her family.
