CHASE MILLS—Funeral services for 84 year old Donald C. Carson, a resident of 636 Ruddy Road, will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 7 p.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood with Rev. Lee Sweeney presiding. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Mr. Carson passed away late Friday evening at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Donald is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anne, Chase Mills; a son Jeffrey Carson and his partner John Dunderman, Nyack; a daughter Lisa and Kevin Eager, Brownville; two beloved grandchildren, Kennady and Kyle Eager and a sister, Inez Hutchins, Winthrop as well as several nieces and nephews. Donald was pre-deceased by his parents, a brother Gerald "Jake" Carson and a sister, Shirley LaVigne.
Born in Norfolk, NY on July 13, 1933 to the late Fred and Leone Morgan Carson, Donald worked at Reynolds Metals in Massena as a machine operator, retiring after 33 years of service. Don loved spending time outdoors, dancing, vacationing in Myrtle Beach, going on cruises and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Don was very active, working with the Massena Senior Citizens Club, the St. Lawrence Power and Equipment Museum, the Seaway Valley Seniors and helped out with the Raymondville-Norfolk Food Pantry.
