I just recently learned that Roger had passed. He and I played soccer together at SUNY-Potsdam. He was a wonderful person! I am sure that he will be missed by all. My sincere condolences to his family; his friends, who are many, will surely miss him. TMH

I am so very sorry to hear about Roger's Passing. I wish I had been able to attend his services. I very much enjoyed the times I shared with Roger, and will miss his presence at Section X Sports Events. He was a Remarkable and Wonderful Man. After growing up in a Funeral Home Family, I know that the Love You Share as Family Members, and the Love and Support of Roger's and your Friends, will be the keys to your Healing through this difficult time. You are Blessed though, because you have Great Memories to Share and to Relive, of all the Wonderful Times you Had Together. May You All Find Peace in the Future as you work through your loss. I hope Doug is still doing some Art.

Cynthia and Family,
Patty and I send our deepest regards and condolences to all in this time of grief.
I first met Roger when I became the Varsity Soccer Coach at Massena Central. Although we were both intense competitors in our sport, we became coaching colleagues. Roger was always a honorable, respectful individual. He was very helpful to me during my early coaching career. Whenever we met, we always had very good conversations about former players, games and especially our families. I am so thankful to have met Roger and to become a colleague of his.
Rest in Peace Roger
Cyndi, God bless you and your family.

Darren and family,
I am sorry about the passing of your dad. He was a truly great person and awesome friend to my dad. I remember all the battles on the soccer field between Madrid and canton and I know they had great respect for each other. I relayed the message of your dad's passing to my dad but he is suffering from dementia so I am not sure if he will remember. I am thinking of you all during these hard times!!!

29 years ago we were preparing for the pinnacle of our high school sport career, a state championship, led by the greatest coach to walk the sidelines at Canton Central. Such an honor to play for Coach D.
Rest in peace Coach. You will be missed.

Cindy,
Amy saw this and emailed me. I am so sorry to hear about Roger's death. We have been very out of touch, but I have asked Jesse about you a couple times over the years. I have lots of fond memories of Canton days that come flooding at times like this. I hope your retirement years with Roger were good ones and that you have many wonderful memories to give you solace. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Roger was a classmate of my dad's (Cecil Brown) back at Edwards Central. But it was my pleasure to have him as a teacher while I lived in Canton. He was an amazing man who inspired students and made an impact on their lives. He was an amazing part of the Canton Golden Bears sports family also. His memory will live on at School, in all the student lives he touched...but the most cherished memories will live on in his family. My prayers abd condolences go out to his family. Roger was an amazing person!!

Roger and I were "intense" rivals as soccer coaches. At the last Section X overall championship, in more than a foot of snow, Roger's Canton squad defeated my kids from Edwards-Knox by 2-0.
After retiring, we met often at the Partridge Run golf course where many of us retired coaches met to play, drink coffee, eat donuts and re-tell old "war" stories.
Those were good times.
I miss those times, and I will miss Roger. Please accept my condolences

I am very sorry for your loss. Coach Dusharm introduced me to the sport of soccer when I was in fourth grade. Mom took me to watch a game and I wandered over behind the net to retrieve the balls for the players. Coach Dusharm came over and asked me if I wanted to be a ball boy. Every game from there on and out I showed up to be a ball boy for Roger. I have many memories I could put on here. Roger was more than a coach to me, he was a parent, a mentor, and a friend. I will truly miss him. Rest in Peace Coach Dusharm

I am so sorry for your loss. I am a student from long ago -- 1973--I still remember Mr Dusharm as a great teacher and someone who genuinely cared about all of us. He got us all through the dissecting of a frog and that is no easy feat for most 8th grade students! I was never one to love science but I liked it that year and I can only contribute that to his skill as a teacher and his care for every student. He was a good person who helped many . I am personally better for having him as my teacher. ❤️

Mr. Dusharm was my Science Teacher for 8th grade, I graduated in 1992. He was such a wonderful teacher as you already know with a nice since of humor. We both attended the Hermon DeKalb prom and we danced because we were the only two from Canton. Such a wonderful man and will be greatly missed. With deepest condolences and sincere sympathy.
