RAYMONDVILLE—A Mass of Christian Burial for 81 year old Albert P. Warriner Sr., a resident of 8626 St. Highway 56, Raymondville, will be held Saturday October 22, 2016 at 1 p.m. at St. Raymond's Church in Raymondville with Rev. Andrew Amyot presiding. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Massena, at a later date. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Mr. Warriner passed away suddenly early Wednesday morning at the Massena Memorial Hospital.
Albert is survived by his wife of 32 years, Elaine, Raymondville; his sons, Steven Warriner, Syracuse; Albert Warriner Jr., Massena; Mark Smutz, Stockholm; Eric and Leslie Smutz, Rochester; Michael and Katie Edwards, Rochester; his daughters, Kelly Warriner, Massena; Ann and Eric Jenson, Rochester; Pam Vail, Rochester; Julie Edwards, Rochester; 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce and Charlie Reynolds, Massena and Shirley and Jack Chenaille, Glens Falls as well as several nieces and nephews. Albert was pre-deceased by a son John Warriner in 2010, a granddaughter, Erica Smutz and a sister, Janet DiTullio.
Born in Massena, NY on June 15, 1935 to the late Albert H. and Ruth Kellison Warriner, Albert graduated from Massena High School in 1954. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served until his Honorable Discharge in 1957. When he returned home, Albert served with the Massena Police Department for 5 years and then worked in the Shipping and Cast House Departments for Reynolds Metal in Massena, retiring in 1997. He married Elaine C. Hartford on July 6, 1984. Albert loved sports and was an avid NY Mets, NY Giants and Syracuse University fan. He also played semi-pro football in Massena for the Massena Warriors in his earlier years. He enjoyed woodworking in his spare time and truly loved spending time with his family.
