Norfolk - James Lee Tiernan, age 70 of Altus, Oklahoma and formerly of Norfolk, died Monday in Altus, Oklahoma.Funeral services and burial will be in Oklahoma. Born in Norfolk on September 25, 1938, son of William and Iola Clarke Tiernan, he married Sandra Thomas in 1959. The marriage ended in divorce. He was a retired Correctional Officer in Hawaii before moving to Oklahoma.
Surviving is a daughter Wendy Tiernan of Altus, Oklahoma , 2 grandchildren, 3 sisters; Mrs. George Linda Harriman and Mrs. Wendell Janice Monroe, both of Norfolk, and Mrs. David Sandra Holmes of Lisbon. He is also survived by 4 nephews and 2 nieces.
