Obituary of Irene Taylor

NORWOOD– Funeral Services for 89 year old Irene Taylor, of 2894 County Route 47, Norwood, will be held Friday at 11 am at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood, with Rev. Lee Sweeney, pastor of the Knapps Station Community Church presiding. Burial will take place in the Morningside Cemetery in Malone. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood. Mrs. Taylor passed away Monday evening at the home of her daughter. Irene is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Charles Karen Morgan and Mrs. Darrel Pamela Shyne, both of Norwood, a sister Mrs. Frank Gwendolyn Mott, of Manchester, Conn., and 6 grandchildren, 4 adopted grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a daughter Sandra Richards in 2007, her brothers Franklin and Harry (Si) and her three sisters Martha Chase, Gertrude Fuller, and Geraldine Bala. Born in Malone on February 28, 1919 to Frank and Gertrude Maynard Sessions, she married Howard C. Taylor. He passed away in 1953. She worked as a caregiver for many years for various people in the area. She enjoyed crotching, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. She loved cooking and trying new recipes. Irene enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Memorial Donations can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley or to a charity of one’s choice.
