NORWOODServices for 81 year old Jean E. Putman, a resident of the Highland Nursing Home in Massena and formerly of Malone, will be held privately. Jean passed away early Tuesday morning. She is survived by her two sons, Kelvin and Bonnie Putman, Atlanta, NY; Kenneth Putman, PA; Pamela Putman, Skaneateles, NY and Julie and Michael McGinnis, Norwood. Jean is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, several great-grand and great-great grandchildren; her brothers Timothy and Keith Reader and a sister Joyce Reader. Jean was pre-deceased by her husband James A. Putman in 1990, a daughter Patricia Putman in 1999 and two brothers, Galon and Raymond Reader.
Born in Gaines, PA on November 25, 1934 to the late Ammon and Hilda Smith Reader, Jean married James A. Putman on April 16, 1950. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting and crocheting. Jean also had a passion for attending flea markets and auctions, to see what valuables she could acquire.
