COLTON Funeral Services for 82 year old Arthur G. Flanders, of the United Helpers Nursing Home, Canton, will be held Wednesday at 2 pm at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton with Rev. Edwin Wright presiding. Burial will be held in the Pleasant Mound Cemetery, Colton. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 12 noon until the time of the service at 2 pm. Mr. Flanders passed away on Monday afternoon.
He was survived by a step-son Bernard and Nora Buckley, South Colton and a step-daughter Luella and Vince Wells, of Colton. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Born in Potsdam on August 14, 1926 to Homer and Ethel Norton Flanders, he married Bertha Chase in November of 1961. She passed away on November 25, 1991. He worked in the maintenance department for the N.Y. State Park at Higley Flow in South Colton for 18 years, retiring in 1990. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1945-1947.
