Duana & Jared Carey posted a condolence
Dear Linda.
Please accept our sincere condolences on the sudden loss of Mario. Our connection was through hockey where so many knew Mario well. Mario was my instructor/mentor as a teen refereeing. He was a great teacher who shared his love and passion for hockey and developed most of the area's best hockey refs back in the 90's. He even talked to me about doing it professionally which was huge and something I'm still proud to share with people. It is difficult to put into words what Mario meant to me. I hope that, alone, says enough.
My grandmother (Duana) asked that I share her condolences as well. Between the junior hockey arena with my playing and refereeing and 20+ years of Clarkson games, she knew Mario well and always enjoyed his friendly smile and support up and down the steps.
On behalf of the Carey family, I would like to say thank you for sharing Mario with so many. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

To the Pusateri family:
I was shocked to hear of Mario's passing this weekend. I spent many hours on the ice reffing hockey with him back in the late 80's and early 90's in Potsdam. What a great man and hockey lover he was - always with a smile. If there is a rink in heaven, he will find it. My deepest sympathy to you all.
