NORFOLK Funeral services for 72 year old Philip M. Lynch Sr., of 21 Sober Street, Norfolk, will be held Monday at 11am at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk, with Rev. Andrew Amyot, pastor, presiding. Burial will be held in the Visitation Cemetery, Norfolk. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 7-9 pm and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk. Mr. Lynch passed away Thursday morning at his home.
He was survived by his Fiancé Phyllis Merkley, of Norwood; his two sons, Philip M. Jr., Norfolk and Daniel and Wendy, Cape Coral, FL; and a daughter Mrs. William Patricia Small, Evergreen, Colorado; 4 grandchildren; two step-brothers, Donald and Leta Richards, Norwood, and David and Darlena Richards, Michigan, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Born in Potsdam on June 24, 1936 to Michael and Virginia Clary Lynch, he worked as a millwright for ALCOA for 33 years, retiring in 1996. He married Linda Kathy Edmonson on August 13, 1968. She passed away on May 24, 1985. He was a member of the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk, the Norfolk American Legion, Massena Amvets, Norfolk Housing Authority and the Norfolk Historical Society. He was an avid golfer and casino patron and enjoyed traveling. He served in the U.S. Army.
