COLTONFuneral services for 85 year old Theresa Ann Perkins, a resident of United Helpers Maplewood Campus in Canton, and formerly of Colton, will be held Friday, September 4, 2015 at 12 noon at St. Patricks Church in Colton with Rev. Howard Venette presiding. Burial will be held in St. Patricks Cemetery, Colton. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Friday from 9 11:30 a.m. Mrs. Perkins passed away early Wednesday morning at Maplewood with family at her side.
Theresa is survived by her two sons, Mark and Kathy Perkins, Anchorage, Alaska; James Perkins, Colton; her daughter, Ms. Mary Perkins-White and her partner, Ken Robbins, Gig Harbor, Washington; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Richard Connelly, Syracuse; Lawrence and Margaret Connelly, Norfolk; Robert and Lee Connelly, Syracuse; three sisters, Joan and Thomas Warren, Lackawanna; Patricia and Ken Potocar, Norwood; Phyllis Hipp, Norwood as well as several nieces and nephews. Theresa was pre-deceased by her sisters Mary Catherine Connelly, Sally LaBarge, Barb Robbins and Helen Mahoney.
Born in Massena, NY on September 13, 1929 to the late Francis and Marcella Marden Connelly, Theresa graduated from high school and earned an associates degree from CCBI in Syracuse. She married Arthur F. Perkins on June 12, 1954 at St. Andrews Church in Norwood. Arthur passed away on January 23, 2011. She was a secretary and teacher for the Literacy Volunteers of America in Syracuse for many years. She played the bagpipes and was a Pipe Major for the Glengarry Pipe Girls Band in the 1950s in Syracuse. She loved to spend time with her family as well as go camping.
