NORWOOD-- There will be no calling hours or funeral services for 63 year old Nancy J. McCarthy, 532 Elliot Road, Norwood. Mrs. McCarthy passed away Thursday afternoon at the Fletcher-Allen Medical Center in Burlington, VT. Nancy is survived by her son, Jonathan Black, Norwood; her three daughters, Bobbie Jean and Frank Phillips, Norwood; Melissa McCarthy, Massena; Amanda Yelle and her fiancé Zachary Day, Norwood; her thirteen grandchildren, Jerry, Patience, Chase, Austin, Dustin, Alyssa, Frankie-lyn, Dillan, Jacob, Constance, Bo, Cassidy and Skylar. Nancy is also survived by her brothers James and Becky Russell, Syracuse; Arthur Russell, North Lawrence and her sister, Patty and Duane Black, North Lawrence.
Born in Massena on April 30, 1951 to Arthur and Betty Whalen Russell, Nancy worked at Bobs Bakery in Massena. She loved animals and enjoyed watching birds and going on an occasional trip to the casino. Memorial Donations in her memory can be made to the Potsdam Animal Shelter.
