SOUTH COLTON-- Memorial services for 70 year old Doris A. Watson of South Colton will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Knapps Station Community Church with Pastor Lee Sweeney presiding. Doris passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Canton Potsdam Hospital surrounded by family and friends. Memories and condolences may be shared online at www.buckfuneralhome.com . SOUTH COLTON-- Doris A. Watson, 70 of South Colton passed away Saturday, December 20 2014 at Canton Potsdam Hospital surrounded by family and friends. Doris was born July 18, 1944 in Chester, Pennsylvania to Edward T. Devonshire and Marie F. Devonshire. Doris had six children and married Ronald L. Watson of Colton March 15, 1982. Among many things, she was a devoted Christian who was a member of the Knapp Station Community Church in Norwood. Doris was a woman of good character who lived by the saying, Youre only as good as your word. She was loyal, loving and fiercely independent. She had a selfless and non-materialistic nature and found value in her relationships with family and friends. She loved music, cooking, animals and singing.
Doris spent the better part of her adult life caring for family, first her in-laws and then her own parents. She is best described as the pillar that supported her family and was dearly loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed but in her death we not only celebrate the precious life that existed here on earth but her glorious homecoming as her father receives her into heaven. She is survived by her husband Ronald her children Stephen, Tammy, Alan, Anthony, Debra and Tina; sisters Lois and Carol and brothers Edward and David along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Doris was predeceased by her parents Edward and Marie Devonshire and her sister Joyce.
A memorial service will be arranged for a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that any gifts be made to the Knapp Station Community Church in her memory.
