NORFOLKFuneral Services for 92 year old Lucy E. Snow, 197 River Road, Norfolk, will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk with Rev. Msgr. Harry K. Snow Jr. as the celebrant, Rev. Andrew Amyot as a co-celebrant and homilist with Bishop Terry R. LaValley, also presiding. Burial will be held in the Visitation Cemetery, Norfolk. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mrs. Snow passed away early Thursday morning at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Lucy is survived by two sons, Rev. Msgr. Harry K. Snow Jr., pastor of St. Marys Church in Waddington and St. Johns Church in Madrid; James F. Snow, Norfolk; a daughter, Jean M. Gang, Norfolk; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a twin sister, Elizabeth Williamson, Massena. Lucy was pre-deceased by a brother, Dennis Small; a half-brother, Giles Small and two half-sisters, Rachael LaMar and Marion Huddleson.
Born on December 25, 1920 in Brasher Flats to the late Clarence and Julia Cary Small, Lucy attended a one room schoolhouse in Brasher Flats. She married Harry K. Snow Sr. in November of 1949. He passed away on September 18, 1998. She was a homemaker and during WWII, she worked at the Mica Plant in Massena. Lucy also worked at the Rome State School as a nurses aide. Lucy was a member of the Church of the Visitation and the Altar and Rosary Society as well. She taught CCD for 30 years at the Church. Memorial Donations can be made to the Church of the Visitation.
