Obituary of Ellamae M. Smith

NORFOLK—Funeral Services for 74 year old Ellamae M. Smith, a resident of 3 High Street, Norfolk, will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk with Rev. Msgr. John Murphy presiding. Burial will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Potsdam. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Mrs. Smith passed away Sunday afternoon at her home. Ellamae is survived by a son, Charles and Jennifer Smith, Arizona; her daughter, Jennie and David Joyce, Norfolk, VA; five grandchildren; a brother Joseph McGregor, North Lawrence; a sister, Mary White, Potsdam and several nieces and nephews. Ellamae was pre-deceased by her husband Loyal, a brother Benjamin Malone and a sister, Betty Malone. Born in Fair Haven, NY on November 11, 1938 to the late Douglas J. and Marie Rose Thiebault McGregor, she married Loyal Smith on June 11, 1960. Mr. Smith passed away in October of 2001. Ellamae worked as a Telephone Operator for NY Telephone in Potsdam for 30 years, retiring in September of 1984.
