KNAPPS STATIONFuneral services for 65 year old Esther A. Brothers, 145 Porter-Lynch Road, Norwood, will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood with Rev. Lee Sweeney presiding. Burial will be held in the Hale Cemetery, Norwood. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mrs. Brothers passed away Thursday afternoon at the Fletcher-Allen Medical Center in Burlington, VT.
Esther is survived by her four sons, Alfred and Melissa Brothers, Dillingham, Alaska; Francis Brothers Jr. and his fiancé Nannette Planty, Norwood; James and his companion Megan Bond, Brasher Falls; Thomas Brothers, Norwood; her two daughters, Cora Brothers, Norwood; Anna Mae Miller, Dillingham, Alaska; her twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Esther is also survived by her brothers Roy, Glacia and her sisters Ruby, Evangeline and Gladys and her step-mother, Louise Hiratsuka, all of Alaska. Esther was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband Francis, two brothers, Kenneth and Frank Jr. and a sister, Annie.
Born on July 20, 1947 in Ekuk, Alaska to the late Frank and Annie Nicketa Hiratsuka, Esther married Francis A. Brothers on September 30, 1967. She worked as a cook for the St. Lawrence County Headstart in Norwood. Esther enjoyed cooking, playing cards and occasionally going to the casino, but most of all, loved spending time with her family. Memorial Donations can be made to a charity of ones choice.
