Obituary of Iva D. Molnar

NORFOLK—Funeral services for 77 year old Iva D. Molnar, 7 Hutchins Street, Norfolk, will be held Friday, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk with Rev. Msgr. John Murphy presiding. Burial will be held in the Visitation Cemetery, Norfolk. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Mrs. Molnar passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Molnar is survived by her husband of 53 years, George, Norfolk; children Jill (Steve) Garner, Fort Mill, SC; George (Michele) Molnar, Westford, MA; and Benjamin (Christine) Molnar, Romeoville, IL; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by siblings Shirley F. Peck and Robert E. Dye. Born in Forestville, NY on March 31, 1935 to the late Harry S. and Florence Watrous Dye, she was raised in Norfolk by her mom and her step-father, Harold Tiernan. A 1953 graduate of Norwood Norfolk High School, she married George Molnar on May 23, 1959. She worked at Alcoa in her earlier years and then became a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk and was the past president of the Norfolk Jolly Agers. She enjoyed gardening and loved animals.
