Obituary of Elsie Irene Drew

NORFOLK—There will be no funeral services for 86 year old E. Irene Drew, 59 South Main Street, Lot 5, Norfolk. Mrs. Drew passed away late Tuesday evening at Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Mrs. Drew is survived by Berne K. Drew, Massena; a son, Larry and Sue-Anne Sheets, Brasher Falls; a daughter, Sandra Gilman and her fiancé Paul Powers, Norfolk; a step-son, Berne Drew Jr., Massena; a step-daughter, Eleanor and Donald Lawrence, Waddington; a grandson, Brian and Diane Sheets and three sisters, Barbara Sheets, Waddington; Edna and Dean Cady, Madrid and Joyce Nickerson, Nevada. She was pre-deceased by her brother Donald Johnston and a sister Betty Pike. Born in Massena on September 13, 1926 to the late Grant and Jenny Garlough Johnston, she married Berne K. Drew in 1962. She worked as the Dining Room Manager for the Highland Nursing Home in Massena for many years and previously she worked as a cook at the Village Inn in Massena. She was a member of the American Legion and the Amvets in Massena and loved cleaning, cooking and working with her crafts, ceramics and crocheting.
