Obituary of Robert J. Lavigne

NORFOLK—Funeral services for 82 year old Robert J. Lavigne, 8 High Street, Norfolk, will be held Thursday at 10 am at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk with Rev. Msgr. John Murphy presiding. Burial will be held in the Visitation Cemetery, Norfolk. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Wednesday from 2:30 - 6:30 pm. Mr. Lavigne passed away Monday morning at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Lavigne, Norfolk; his two brothers, Kenneth and Laura Lavigne and Dale “Butch” and Rita Lavigne, both of Norfolk and several nieces and nephews. Bob was pre-deceased by his brother Lloyd. Born in Norfolk on February 4, 1930 to the late Sylvester and Bernice Casselman Lavigne, he married Barbara Hosmer on October 13, 1951. Bob was a supervisor for the Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation, retiring in 1990 after 38 years of service. He was a member of the Church of the Visitation and was a member of the Norfolk American Legion and the Azure Mountain Hunting Club. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
