Obituary of Dorothy H. Hayes

COLTON—Graveside services for 85 year old Dorothy H. Hayes, 4890 State Highway 56, will be held privately in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Colton with Rev. Msgr. Robert Aucoin presiding. Mrs. Hayes passed away Sunday afternoon at her home. Dorothy is survived by her son, Irving and Cindy LaFountain, Colton; two daughters, Vivian and David Grahling, Boston, MA and Linda and Paul Seymour, Champlain, NY. Dorothy is also survived by her ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a sister Lee Richards and a sister-in-law Velma Benware, both of Malone and several nieces. She was pre-deceased by her brothers Francis and Harold Benware. Born in Gabriels, NY on June 16, 1926 to the late Ezra and Mildred Belanga Benware, she was the owner and operator of the Colton Hotel for many years. She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Colton. Memorial Donations can be made to the Colton Rescue Squad or to Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
