Obituary of Beverley A. Grady

NORWOOD-- Funeral services for 91 year old Beverley A. Grady, 9 Bicknell Street, Norwood, will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Church in Norwood with Rev. Msgr. Harry Snow presiding. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Norwood. There will be no calling hours. Mrs. Grady passed away unexpectedly at her home on Christmas Eve. Mrs. Grady is survived by three sons, John and Kathy Grady, Norwood; Douglas (Billy) Grady, Norwood; Robert and Mary Grady, Ogdensburg; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Gilbert and Geraldine Grady, both of Norwood; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Beverley was pre-deceased by her infant daughter, Jean Francis in 1947, her three brothers, Clark, Roscoe and Bernard Bowhall and a sister, Bessie Bowhall. Born in Norwood on February 14, 1920 to the late Frank and Jennie Clark Bowhall, she married Douglas Grady on April 12, 1943. He passed away in 1990. Beverley enjoyed bowling and bingo in her earlier years. She loved to knit hats, sweaters, mittens and afghans for family and friends, also donating so many to needy children over the years. Beverley also enjoyed making latch hook rugs. She was well known for her fudge, piccalilli, rhubarb wine and homemade donuts. Beverley was a member of the Norwood Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Beverley will be missed by her family and friends, but most of all by her daughter Gerry, who has lived with her and been her caregiver for the past 7 ½ years.
