My sincere condolences to Nettie's family. Nettie is a part of my life's history. Many times I remember walking the mile from my home to Knapp's Station to Dykes store and Nettie was there at the counter to take my nickle for a candy bar or a pack of gum, or to accept a trade-in of bottles I found on my walk which were worth 2 cents towards a treat of some kind - then we could actually buy penny candy! Nettie always had a smile on her face and was a sweet and kind lady. Nettie and her sister Aletha were also my mother's good friends, and I thank Aletha and Nettie for all they did for her and my sister Sandy. It is sad to see these wonderful people leave us, but know that Nettie is in a better place now. I will remember Nettie and Mollie and and, of course, Aletha with much love and always lots of fond memories of the many years they shared their loving, gracious selves with the folks in Knapps! I treasure those memories.
