CANTON-- A private memorial service for 95 year old Ellen A. French, a resident of the Maplewood Campus in Canton, will be held at the Maplewood Campus in Canton at a later date. Burial will take place in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo, NY. Mrs. French passed away Monday morning at Maplewood.
Ellen is survived by her son, Edward and Marilyn Woolston, Rainbow Falls, South Colton and Largo, Florida; two grandchildren, Joelle and Brooke and her four great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her brother Andrew Anderson and her sister Hilda Anderson.
Born in Buffalo on December 12, 1915 to the late John and Hilma Johanson Anderson, she married Donald Woolston in 1942. Mr. Woolston passed away shortly after in 1942. She later married Herb French in 1966, and he passed away in 1982. She worked as an administrative assistant for the Ellicott Drug Company in Buffalo, NY. She was a life member of the Sons of Norway and enjoyed knitting and spending time with her family and friends. Memorial Donations can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley or to the Maplewood Campus in Canton, in her memory.
