Obituary of Kevin F. Stockwell

NORWOOD – Funeral services for 59 year old Rev. Kevin F. Stockwell; Missional Pastor for the Norwood United Methodist Church, will be held Saturday at 1 PM at the United Church of Copenhagen in Copenhagen with Rev. Larry Duthie officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Copenhagen. Friends may call locally at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood Friday from 2-4 and 7-9. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 12 Noon – 1PM at the United Church of Copenhagen in Copenhagen before the services. Rev. Stockwell died January 16, 2011 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Surviving are his wife Laurinda of Norwood; his mother Kathleen M. Stockwell of Copenhagen; one son. Jedediah & Lisa Gramlin; Stamford,VT; two daughters; Iphagainia & Chris Tanguay; Northfield Vt. ; Hope S. Strader, Hannawa Falls; one grandson Sherman Taylor; one sister, Carla & Paul Spedding; Fulton One Brother –in –law , Clarence Clemons ; Copenhagen,and extended family members; Mia Tanguay, Sebastian Tanguay, Tracy Stokes, Jesse Stokes, & Wendy S. Holland. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.He was pre-deceased by a sister Karen Clemons. Born in Lowville on August 11, 1951, son of Neil W. and Kathleen M. Zimmer Stockwell, he married Laurinda R. Dixon on April 3, 1993.He received a bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy from Utica College of Syracuse University. Rev Stockwell served the Northern Flow District of the United Methodist Church and served in Galilee,Depeyster,Raymondville, and Norwood.He was attending Wesley Seminary in Washington, DC. He was a Volunteered Fireman and Hunter Safety Instructor, a member of the Norwood Masonic Lodge and a avid woodworker.Donations may be made to the West Potsdam Fire Dept 1st.
