COLTONFuneral Services for 78 year old Kathryn M. Paul, 6636 County Route 24, Colton, will be held Saturday at 11 am at the United Methodist Church in Colton with Rev. Jim Barnes presiding. Burial will be held in Pleasant Mound Cemetery, Colton. Friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Friday from 4-8 pm. Mrs. Paul passed away Tuesday at the Fletcher-Allen Medical Center in Burlington, VT.
Kathryn is survived by her husband, Ernest Walter Paul, Colton; her two sons, Walter H. and Kathryn M. Paul, Rainbow Falls and Andrew C. and Becky J. Paul, Colton; her three daughters, Deborah K. and John P. Hammond, Colton; Rebecca L. Donovan, Colton and Richelle L Bonner-Murray and her husband Vernon R. Murray. Kathryn is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Angela Streeter, Leslie Donovan, John Hammond (JP), Michael Donovan, Jeffery Bonner, Lindsay Paul, Jenna Paul and Harley Murray. She has four great-grandchildren and is survived by her only sibling, Mrs. Frank Nancy Shea, South Colton.
Born in Lisbon on July 11, 1932 to the late Harley and Rachel Fisher Mullen, she graduated from Canton High School in 1950 and continued her education at the Wallace Secretarial Business School in Ogdensburg. She married Ernest Walter Paul on June 21, 1952. She worked for the Town of Pierrepont as the Town Clerk for 20 years, retiring in 1990. Previously, she worked for the St. Lawrence County Department of Social Services as a secretary. She was an avid member of the Red Hat Society, a member of the West Stockholm Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary, the NYS Town Clerks Association and a committee woman for the Republican Party. She was an avid NY Yankee fan and enjoyed bowling and studying local and national politics. Her greatest love was caring for her children and grandchildren. Kathryn will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
