COLTON Funeral services for 76 year old Joan T. Whyte, 367 Arbuckle Pond Road, Colton, will be held Tuesday at 10 am at St. Patricks Church in Colton with Rev. Bryan Stitt, pastor, presiding. Spring burial will be held in St. Patricks Cemetery. Friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mrs. Whyte passed away early Saturday morning at her home.
Joan is survived by her husband Norman, Colton, and four daughters, Mary-Jo and William Sutton, Colton, Tracy and Edwin Harcourt, Colton, Carole Whyte, Fort Collins, Colorado, and Suzanne Edenhart, Cranberry Township, PA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and a sister Carole Lees, Norton, Mass. She was pre-deceased by her son Mark and a sister Anne Marie Hunt.
Born in Boston, Mass. on April 1, 1933 to the late Robert and Catherine Whalen Smith, she married Norman Whyte on April 21, 1957. She was a Registered Nurse, working in Boston, at the United Helpers Nursing Home in Canton and for Dr. Kaplan. She enjoyed knitting, reading and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
