Pop - you will be missed greatly. Your sense of humor never died and you were always ready to bring a smile to someones face. Whenever Dad (Jeff Mills) would come home from visiting you, it was inevitable that he would come back with things you found at the auction. Like the leather visor he sent for me that was for a little girl but because it said my name, Kim, he got it for me (even though I was around 28). I still have that hat. The things he sent were someone elses junk but to him they were treasures because each item reminded him of someone in his family. The one story I remember as a little girl is that Pop told me there was a bird called Snipes and you would catch them by taking a burlap sack and saying "here snipe, snipe, snipe". I thought he was nuts. For many years I never believed him. I just thought he was funny and picking on me. Well thanks to the internet I found out there are such a thing and that is how you get them. Pop - hope you're catching a lot of snipes up in Heaven. I love you. Your granddaughter - Kim

To Russ & Edie's family,
They were such a special couple who are now together for eternity.
I visited Russ on Saturday the 12th with another friend and her 14 month old son. Russ was very pleased to see Matthew pushing the walker around the room and running out the door to be chased by his Mom. He never lost his love for seeing little children.
His wit and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him. Cherish all your memories; they will last forever.
I'm sorry I will be unable to attend the funeral as I have an 85 year old uncle who is not doing very well and my family will be with him that morning.
Sincerely, Shirley Amo

Russ and Edie were literally my favorite couple that came into Gooselanding for a few years. They would walk in and the other waitresses would say "Jess your couple are here.." They were there for me when I bought my house and sent me a wonderful card and candle they also were there when my daughter got sick. They made sure to send her a bear to make her feel better. The day I brought Ali into the nursing home, they sat with her and colored. Its something I will never forget! I send my thoughts and prayers to the whole family...And now I know for certain they will be okay, together! Love always Russ and Edie, Jessica

To Russ's family; I just wanted to let you know how much Russ meant to my family. He and Edie sat behind me in church for many years. They will be missed so much. Russ & Edie loved my grandchildren so much that every year for several years Russ would make sure when the Shriner Circus came to town that my grandchildren would have tickets to go. Although they didn't have any more money than I did, they made sure those kids made it to the circus! One year Russ bought the tickets early. When he went to get them where he put them for safekeeping he couldn't find them. After a few days he said he did and handed me an envelope. When I got to the circus I opened the envelope and found not tickets but money! He made sure that those kids didn't miss out! I used just enough money to get them in and had to returen the rest of the money via Jeff, because Russ would have never taken it back. He eventually found those tickets and we had a good laugh over it. I remember meeting him at Al's for a cup of coffee many times. I was amazed each time he made it there, counting the steps it took him to get there. They will both be sadly missed, but they brought such joy to me and my family. My prayers are with you and your family, Russ mentioned you all often.
