To all family and friends of our dear friend, Edie Mills,
I met Edie in 1958 when I was 10 and still in pigtails. She became a close friend of our family - my parents, Dr. & Mrs. William & Clara Loeb from Montclair, NJ and remained close even though we were miles apart in distance. I routinely spoke with Edie on Sundays for many years. She always was my hero, strong in conviction and will. An excellent ice skater, skiier, loved the outdoors, horses and adored her husband, Russ. Always very intelligent and extremely proud of her achievements and in her many years of serving her patients with an ethic that so often these days is lost. She will remain a part of my life and on each Sunday, I will for even a moment be with her in thought. She had so many ailments and at times was challenged to get through the day but always appreciated life and the meaning of it. Her faith never waivered. She will be missed. As we closed our telephone conversations each time with, "I love you and goodbye for now". My good friend and hero. Bless you always. Goodbye for now.

Our heart goes out to you with deepest affection and sympathy. To put it simply, Edie was the epitome of the word LADY-----a wonderful, kind, and caring person. She shall be missed by all of the Hickman-Mills family. May she rest in peace and may the Lord also look kindly on dear Uncle Russ.

May I send my deepest sympathy to you all. I worked with Edie for many years (she worked for ARC and I worked for NY state). She was an exceptionally wonderful human being. She had a great love for her work as well as her passion for her beloved horses. It was a privelege to work with such a special human being. May she rest in peace.

Edie was my grandmother. Although miles have separated us through the years and we were unable to see each other, the memories I have from childhood with Edie will always be with me. Going to the farm in NY and riding Jack, the giant workhorse, breakfast that was made that could rival any buffet and the fact that she is the person who taught me to be proud of my height, walk tall and stand proud. You will be missed.
