SOUTH COLTON Funeral Services for 80 year old Floyd G. Baker, of 45 Sugar Bush Lane, South Colton, will be held Saturday at 10 am at St. Pauls Church in South Colton with Rev. Raymond Moreau, pastor presiding. Burial in St. Patricks Cemetery will be held at a later date. Friends can call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mr. Baker passed away Tuesday afternoon at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Mr. Baker is survived by a son Frank and Ana Baker, Oak Harbor, Washington, his daughters, Kathy Baker, East Brunswick, NJ, Donna and Michael Elliott, Ogdensburg, Shari Baker, Putnam Valley, NY, his six grandchildren, Tori Elliott, Rachel Elliott, Christopher Elliott, Jon Blanco, Kae Anne Baker, and Ty Jordan Baker, and his brothers Clark Baker, Chipman Corners and Phillip and Phyllis Baker, Colton. He was pre-deceased by a brother Gordon Baker and a sister Barbara Marshall.
Born in Potsdam on June 22, 1929 to the late Gordon R. and Fontabelle Clark Baker, he married Patricia Shelley on September 14, 1957. She passed away in 2001. He worked as a mechanic and on the grounds at Canton ATC for 25 years. He enjoyed spending time on Higley Flow and visiting various Diners with family and friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his numerous grand-dogs, as well as spending time with his extended family on Sugar Bush Lane. Memorial Donations can be made the Colton Fire Dept.
