Mrs. McEwen taught me in fourth grade at Colton Pierrepont. I remember enjoying her class because she was a hands-on teacher. I learned more about American history from her class because she gave us the opportunity to learn by doing. She is remembered fondly, and I extend my sympathies to her family. She made an impression on many lives.

Mrs. McEwen was my 4th grade teacher many years ago when I lived in Colton. She was the kindest most gentle teacher I can ever remember having. She was so caring that she even made home visits to ensure my success in school. She will be greatly missed.

i am so sorry to hear of my favorite teachers passing. she was my teacher in fourth grade and she has told me time and time again how she had to stick up for me on a test I took and got the highest grade in the class. there were those that did not believe that a poor child like me could outscore the more popular children and she told them out straight that I was much more capable than the richer students.I think of her often and how much I enjoyed sewing doll clothes for our pioneer dolls under her direction. geraldine(tee) johnson
