NORFOLK Funeral services for 90 year old R. Monica Nightengale, of 16 Morris Street, Norfolk, will be held Wednesday at 9:30 am at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk with Rev. Andrew Amyot, pastor, presiding. Burial will be held in the Visitation cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk. Mrs. Nightengale passed away early Sunday morning at her home.
Monica is survived by three Nephews, Richard and Linda OBrien, Rochester; Patrick and Roxy OBrien, Utah; John and Carole OBrien, Rochester, three nieces, Dawn and Jim Cavallario, SanDiego, CA; Carol and Gilbert Gonthier, Norfolk; Peter and Cathy Rodger, Norwood; two step-sons, Carroll Nightengale, Oregon and James Nightengale, Florida, a step-daughter Margaret (Peggy) Wilbert, Wolcott, NY, and three step grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her brothers John, Kenneth, Richard and Eugene, her sister Elizabeth (Betty) Brownell, a nephew Michael OBrien and a step-son Kenneth Jr. In 1982.
Born in Norfolk on October 31, 1918 to the late Charles and Elizabeth Murphy OBrien, she married Kenneth Nightengale on September 21, 1968. He passed away on November 3, 1977. She worked as a bookeeper for F & F Lavigne in Norfolk for 28 years, Retiring in 1990. Memorial Donations can be made to Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
