My deep condolences go out to all of Larry's close friends and family. A very kind man who always was there to try and help others, is how I remember "Mr. Patzwald".
He will surely be missed by the many people that he brought smiles to when they were in his presence.

My deepest sympathy on the passing of Larry. I was hired by Larry at Argyle Central School in 1991 and had the pleasure of working with him for many years. He was kind, funny and professional and I will remember him with great fondness.

I knew Larry as a fraternity brother in Sigma Tau, coworker, and friend. In college his nickname was the Professor for his wit and wisdom while sitting in the Big Tree Inn. He is greatly missed by his friends and colleagues and especially by me.

When Mr. Patzwald offered me my first teaching job I turned it down. I called him back within ten minutes and told him that I reconsidered. His response was, "You don't know how good this makes me feel." I was the fortunate one. I was able to teach with Mr. Patzwald as my superintendent for a year and a half. There are so many things I could write to describe what a wonderful educator and friend he was, but I'll leave it at this: Mr. Patzwald made me want to be a better teacher every day. He did not have any tricks. He did not have any master school improvement plan to conform to state education demands. He simply instilled in me a desire to teach children better than I did the day before, and that is what being in education is all about. Thank you, Mr. Patzwald. I will miss you. Tell Yogi I said, "Hi."

We were saddened to see of Larry's passing. We met him at the diner in Colton. He was a good fiend to mom and dad, Ed and Janet Thornton, and we too became good friends. We will miss him greatly.

I knew Larry to be such a kind, caring man with a wonderful sense of humor. He was a dear friend to my late parents, Ed and Janet Thornton, who were part of his "Hideaway Cafe" family. I so enjoyed my conversations with him whenever I was in town for a visit. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his immediate and extended family.
