HANNAWA FALLS-- Funeral services for 83 year old Rene J. Pelletier, a resident of 21 Lenny Road, Potsdam, will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Andrews Church in Norwood with Rev. Msgr. John Murphy presiding. Burial will be held in the St. Lawrence Cemetery, Louisville. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mr. Pelletier passed away Sunday afternoon at his home.
Rene is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jean, Hannawa Falls; a son, Brian and Donna Pelletier, Stockholm and his daughter, Lisa and John Dumoulin, Granite City, IL. Rene is also survived by his extended family, Stephen and Gayle Maxim, Norwood; Paul Smith, Anchorage, Alaska; Sherry and Scott Mackeil, Tampa, FL; Marcia and Alan Bradley, Parishville; Raymond and Monica Stoddard, Norfolk; several grandchildren and one sister, Irene and Harold Eastwood, Hannawa Falls.
Born in Massena on August 1930 to the late Joseph and Alice Hart Pelletier. After his schooling, Rene joined the Air Force and he served during the Korean War as a Arial reconnaissance photographer. He married Jean Murray on November 20, 1982. Rene retired in 1990 as a pipefitter, working out of the Local 73 in Oswego, NY. He was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed golfing and traveling. He was a member of the Korean War Vets, Massena and the Raymondville Golf Club, and a lifetime member of the Massena American Legion.
