POTSDAMCalling hours for 63 year old Barney C. Queor Jr., 951 County Route 56, Potsdam, will be held Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood. Burial will be held in the spring in the South Russell Cemetery. Mr. Queor passed away Sunday at the Fletcher-Allen Medical Center in Burlington, VT.
Barney is survived by his wife, Elva, Potsdam; two sons, Joseph and Consuelo Queor, Brick, NJ; Craig Rombough Jr., Norfolk; five daughters, June Queor, Flackville; Jamie Queor, Brick, NJ; Stacey and Shawn Hartigan, Massena; Danielle and William Gardner, Massena and Brittany Queor, Norwood. Barney is also survived by his eight grandchildren, one great-grand-daughter, his two brothers, Allen and Sharon Queor, Edwards, NY and Bernard and Pamela Queor, Fairville, NY; his four sisters, Phylinda and Lawrence Gonyou and Wanita and Robert Favreau, both of Lyons, NY; Brenda Vasavada, Ogdensburg; Darlena and Roy Keck, Harrisburg, PA; his step sister, Charlene and Leo Shampine, Russell and several nieces and nephews. Barney was pre-deceased by a brother, Earl and two sisters, Carole and Bunny Queor.
Born in Potsdam, NY on March 4, 1950 to the late Barney C. and June E. Dodds Queor Sr., he married Elva Joubert on August 4, 1990. He worked as a laborer for the St. Lawrence County Highway Department in Canton. Barney was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing, playing darts and spending time with his family. Barney served with the U.S. Marines during Vietnam.
